Site selection is critical to a custom home design's success. We are responsive to sites - in both home placement and environmental sensitivity. Our "five-sided" home designs are three-dimensional sculpture and take care not only with the front, street elevation but also with the home's other four sides - rear and side elevations and rooflines.
In warm climates, many custom home homeowners want "see-through" houses. From the foyer one can see-through the interior living space to the exterior living space and views. Outdoor spaces are just as important as interior rooms. Outdoor fireplaces and kitchens increase enjoyment of our mild desert climate.
Each of our custom homes fits its owners' individual needs. Each is as functional as it is beautiful. For one client we designed a fully wheelchair-accessible home that provides a comforting environment without an institutional appearance. In another, we responded to the desire for classic southwest detailing - with vigas, carved pine corbels, thick sculptured walls, niches, saltillo tile floors and metal and glass lanterns.
