Superior Clay smoke chambers save time and money and they result in excellent reftacrtory smoke chamber liners. Clay smoke chamber liners must only be enclosed with 4" of solid masonry, like clay flue liners, whereas smoke chambers constructed of brick and parged with refracoty mortar must be 8" thick.

Smoke chambers are designated by their nominal exterior top dimensions - the flue system they fit. Think of them as flared flue liners with a base wide enough to fit over dampers and funnel to the flue size at the top. They are available in both centered and off-set configurations andwork for all masonry fireplaces - not just Rumfords.
