This set of fireplace tools with its exceptionally flowing lines are fine example of the handforged blacksmithing done in Colonial America. These tools are hand forged with hand twisted handles. Tools are 32 inches tall. The stand is 38 inches tall and 14 inches wide.

Ferringer Tongs

Here are some tongs I make. They are traditional in style and were common in the late 1700 and 1800's. They have a hinged mortise and tendon joint, are very tight and smooth working.

Draw Screens

We are not especially fond of standard draw screens. They bunch up at the sides of the fireplace blocking the opening and the track at the top can interfere with the laminar air flow under the Rumford throat. Sometimes, however, draw screens are the best solution. They are self-storing, can be fitted behind doors without integral screens and are inexpensive. See pricing for standard draw screens Custom Draw Screens with bar and rings are another matter altogether. The two styles shown at the left are attractive and don't interfere in any way with the performance of the Rumford fireplaces. For large fireplaces, these surface mounted custom draw screens may be the best solution compared with heavy self-standing screens.
