Consensus Committee on the National Green Building Standardª

A third meeting of the Consensus Committee is scheduled to take place October 29, 30, and 31 in Washington, DC. Please confirm attendance with an email to standards@nahbrc.org. A block of rooms is held at Homewood Suites by Hilton¨ Washington located at 1475 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20005 at a rate of 219 plus tax under ÒGreen Building Standard MeetingÓ. You can make reservations starting Thursday August 28, 2007 by phone at 202-265-8000 or fax at 202-265-5810. The cut-off date for reservations is October 5, 2007.

A draft of the National Green Building Standard is available for public comment. The Public Comment Period closes on September 24, 2007. A Public Comment Form must be used to submit comments. A second Public Comment Period in scheduled to start in October 2007 after the Consensus Committee meeting.

Masonry seems to philosophically be in but hardly mentioned as a green product.

Propose referrencing ASTM emissions standards.
